As our campus continues to undergo much transition, we need leadership that will promise to provide a voice for all students. With that being said, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Aubrey Coleman and I am running for the office of Vice President of Academic Affairs. I have served in the SGA office of Academic Affairs cabinet for the past two years currently serving as the Director of Recruitment. I have spent countless hours working with administrators and students ensuring that students are assimilated into the University as well as continuing my oath to support students as they continue to achieve academic success. I have also worked very closely with Michael Noyes, the past Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs, current Vice President Matt Wisda, as well as the past & current SGA Presidents, on numerous projects, plans, strategies and assignments that have benefited many students at our University. If elected, I will work closely with the campus book store, professors and suppliers of educational materials to provide a more cost effected options for students. I also pledge to work with all retailers to ensure that students receive a fair resale value when selling used books during textbook buy back at the end of the semester. I also plan to enhance the SGA’s work with the Test Bank, modernizing the text bank with the latest tests and quizzes while improving student access to additional tests online for greater convenience. In addition to the other projects, I will work with the faculty of the Universities colleges to improve the advising process to better utilize the vast knowledge of the counsels so that students can be more informed about their academic progress and standings. I pledge to serve as a strong voice for ALL students while working closely with the faculty and staff in guiding The University of Alabama through this period of transition. |
